(ドラゴンボール Z) is a Japanese anime series produced by Toei Animation. It tells the story of Son Goku and his adventures that often center around the mystical Dragon Balls that can grant any wish. It is a sequel to the Dragon Ball anime, and an animated adaptation of the latter portion of Akira Toriyama's acclaimed Dragon Ball manga.

During the Androids/Cell story arc, the bio-android Cell, seeking to absorb Androids 17 and 18 in order to reach his perfect form, pursues and confronts them. Cell first battles Android 17, easily overpowers him, and very nearly absorbs him. However, he is attacked by Android 17's comrade, Android 16.

In episode 152, Android 16 continues to attack Cell, releasing a devastating energy blast that blows him into the ground. However, Cell survives this and emerges from the ground, sneaking up behind Android 17. Cell then opens up his tail and engulfs him. Android 17 is sucked up through Cell's tail and absorbed into his body, allowing Cell to reach his second form.

During the Androids/Cell story arc, after Cell has absorbed Android 17, he pursues Android 18, hoping to reach his perfect form. However, his efforts are halted by the human warrior Tenshinhan and the Saiyan warriors Vegeta and Trunks. However, after hearing of Cell's perfect form, Vegeta allows Cell to absorb Android 18.

In episode 159, Cell manages to locate Android 18, but Trunks still intends to stop Cell. Trunks attacks him, but Cell escapes underground and then confronts Android 18. He looms over her and very nearly absorbs her, but is attacked by Trunks. Cell then uses the Solar Flare technique to blind everyone around him. A blind Android 18 desperately attacks Cell, but he easily side-steps her and then engulfs her with his tail. As Android 18 is sucked up into Cell's body, the human warrior Krillin attacks him, but to no avail as Cell finishes absorbing her, and finally reaches his perfect form.

Scenario Edit

During the Majin Buu story arc, an ancient evil entity known as Majin Buu is awoken by the wizard Babidi and terrorizes Earth. Later in the arc, Majin Buu befriends the would-be hero Mr. Satan and adopts a puppy and resolves not to kill anymore. However, after two gunmen shoot the dog and Mr. Satan, Buu seethes with anger and splits into his good and evil halves.

In episode 255, Majin Buu's evil half manifests into "Evil Buu". Evil Buu battles Good Buu and easily overpowers him. Good Buu uses his chocolate beam against Evil Buu, but Evil Buu blows the beam back at him, turning Good Buu into chocolate. Evil Buu then picks up the transformed Good Buu and eats him, absorbing him into his body. This results in Evil Buu transforming into "Super Buu".

  • This is the only instance in the Dragon Ball Z anime in which Majin Buu absorbs a being by turning them into food and eating them. All other times he turns people into food they are chewed up and digested.

During the Majin Buu story arc, Majin Buu fight Gotenks, the fusion of the half-saiyans Goten and Trunks, who is aided by the Namekian Piccolo. After Gotenks defuses due to the fusion time limit, the half-Saiyan Son Gohan arrives and battles Majin Buu and easily overpowers him.

In episode 265, seeing that he cannot win, Majin Buu goads Goten and Trunks into fusing once again. Goten and Trunks agree and fuse back into Gotenks. However, unbeknownst to them, Majin Buu oozes two pieces of himself off his back. The two blobs move about and manage to sneak up on Gotenks and Piccolo. The two pieces of Buu expand and completely engulf them. Buu then flicks up his hand, causing the two blobs, now containing Gotenks and Piccolo, to fly back into his body. Gotenks and Piccolo are then absorbed into Buu's body and Buu changes into his Gotenks form, gaining Gotenks' power and appearance and Piccolo's intelligence.

During the Majin Buu story arc, Majin Buu battles Gohan after absorbing Gotenks and Piccolo and easily gains the upper-hand.

In episode 267, seeing that Gohan cannot win, the Saiyan Son Goku is restored to life and returns to Earth, planning to fuse with Gohan so they can defeat Buu. However, before they can fuse, Buu's power-up wears off as Gotenks defuses inside of him and he changes to his Piccolo form. Goku then relents, claiming that there is no need to fuse as Gohan can defeat Buu now. However, a piece of Buu that had broken off previously sneaks up on Gohan and engulfs him. The blob containing Gohan flies into Buu's body and Gohan is absorbed. Buu then transforms into his Gohan form, gaining Gohan's power and appearance.

During the Majin Buu story arc, after Majin Buu has absorbed Gohan, the Saiyans Goku and Vegeta fuse to become Vegito. The fused warrior easily overpowers Buu, countering his every attack.

In episode 272, Vegito continues to dominate Buu, even after being turned into candy. Buu turns Vegito back and, left with no other option, attempts to absorb him. However, this turns out to be Vegito's plan as he baits Buu into absorbing him so that he can enter Buu's body and rescue the others who have been absorbed. Buu falls for it and uses a piece of his body to envelop Vegito. Vegito puts up an energy shield to protect himself and he is sucked up into Buu's body.
