History Edit

During the Majin Buu story arc, Vegeta is deceased for a large portion of the storyline after he sacrifices himself in an unsuccessful attempt to destroy Majin Buu. However, Vegeta later returns from the afterlife so that he can help in the battle against Buu.

As soon as Vegeta returns to Earth, Goku explains that Buu has already absorbed Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, and Gohan and persuades him to fuse so they can defeat him. The two become the fused warrior Vegito and easily overpower Buu. Wanting to save the others who have been absorbed by Buu, Vegito forces Buu to exhaust all his options until he resorts to absorbing him. Taking the bait, Buu uses a piece of himself to engulf Vegito, and Vegito is pulled into Buu's body. Using an energy shield, Vegito manages to avoid being absorbed and is given free reign inside Buu's body. Vegito then inexplicably defuses back into Vegeta and Goku and the two search Buu's body for their trapped sons and Piccolo. The two manage to rescue all of them, as well as untether Good Buu, and then escape from Buu's body.

Shortly afterwards, Majin Buu reverts to his Kid Buu form and blows up Earth. Vegeta and Goku manage to escape in time and then concoct a plan to restore Earth and all the people Buu has killed. Vegeta then helps Goku as he uses the energy from as many people in the universe as he can to conjure a Spirit Bomb that destroys Majin Buu once and for all.
